The Senior Inspector for
Skystone will have a suite
of responsibilities
including, but not limited
to active participation in
delivery of Inspection
Services, mentoring the
Inspection Team, and
supporting the Corporation’s
Business Development effort.
Job Duties:
As a member of the Inspection Services Group the
Senior Inspector is responsible
for, but not limited to, the following General Duties:

Ensure current codes and standards are available, understood and used for design or repair
calculations.

Ensure personnel used for inspection and testing are qualified and competent to perform
their tasks.

Define inspection
requirements and technical
qualifications for service
suppliers.
-
Develop inspection and
repair procedures, training
plans and schedules,
inspection and servicing
plans (type, schedule and
cost), inspection,
mitigation and monitoring
plans,
-
Develop qualifications and
training requirements for
operators, inspectors,
foremen, contractors, and
design engineers.
-
Communicate the impact of
legislative changes and
non-conformance both
externally to the client and
internally to Skystone.
-
Provide status reports to
the client’s appropriate
personnel (Foreman, District
Managers) in reference to
the compliance to the
respective program(s).

Develop, revises, and
updates PEIM
Programs/Manuals.
- The
Senior Inspector is
responsible for approving:
- Contracts as meeting
technical requirements
prior to issuance,
- PSV service reports,
- Vessel/piping
inspection reports,
-
Piping and vessel repair
plans, procedures and/or
reports,
- Disposition
on non-conformances.
-
Inspection, NDE, repair,
pressure piping, safety
valve servicing, and
special process
contracts as meeting
technical requirements
prior to issuance.
- Writes and approves
Fit-for-Service assessments
and certifies equipment as
fit-for-service (review and
accept/signs off inspection
reports).
- Certifies
inspection/servicing
methodology selection.

Certifies selected
inspection and PSV servicing
intervals.
- Conducts
training of inspectors,
operators, foremen,
contractors, and design
engineers.
- Reports to
client on program
compliance, program
effectiveness and
non-conformances.
- Travel
to client’s offices as
required to fulfill company
obligations.
- Minimum
travel to field to assist in
inspections, auditing and
trouble shooting.
Decision Making Authority:
-
Senior Inspector decisions
required to the level of
certification achieved.
Industry Experience:
-
Proven skills in working
with clients, office, and
field staff.
-
Knowledge of oil and gas
industry.
-
Ability to work with
fabrication and NDE
contractors in an efficient
manner.
-
Five (5) years of relevant
pressure equipment
experience.
-
Regulatory knowledge.
-
Knowledge of quality
management systems is
preferred.
Education Requirements:
-
(For Alberta only) a current certification of competency by ABSA as an In-Service
Pressure Vessel Inspector (IPVI), In-Service Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspector
(IBPVI) and
- Either (a) or (b)
- Five years experience in pressure equipment inspection, and
- API 510 or National Board Commission, and
- Related Engineering degree (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding, Chemical
or Process Engineering), or
- First Class Power Engineers Certificate, or
- Mechanical, Material or Welding Technologist Graduate of a recognized two-year full
time program from a Technical Institute.
- Ten years related pressure equipment experience, and High School Diploma, and API
510 or National Board Certification.
Software Skills:
-
Familiar with Microsoft Outlook.

Good skills with Microsoft Excel and
Word documents.
- Past knowledge of database programs is an asset.

based out of Skystone's
