The Senior Pressure Vessel Inspector for Skystone will have a suite of responsibilities including, but not limited to, active participation in delivery of Inspection Services, mentoring within the Inspection Team, and supporting the Corporation’s Business Development effort.

Job Duties:

As a member of the Inspection Services Group, the Senior Inspector is responsible for, but not limited to, the following general duties:

  • Develop inspection and repair procedures, training plans and schedules, inspection and servicing plans (type, schedule and cost), inspection, mitigation and monitoring plans for clients.
  • Develop qualifications and training requirements for operators, foremen, and contractors for clients.
  • Communicate the impact of legislative changes and non-conformance to the client.
  • Provide status reports to the client.
  • Develop, revise, and update PEIM Programs/Manuals.
  • Approve:
    • PSV service reports
    • Vessel/piping inspection reports,
    • Piping and vessel repair plans, procedures and/or reports,
    • Disposition on non-conformances.
    • Inspection, NDE, repair, pressure piping, safety valve servicing, and special process contracts as meeting technical requirements prior to issuance.
    • Write and approve Fit-for-Service assessments and certify equipment as fit-for-service (review and accept/sign off inspection reports).
  • Report to client on program compliance, program effectiveness and non-conformances.
  • Travel to client’s offices as required to fulfill company obligations.
  • Travel to field for inspections, auditing and troubleshooting.

Industry Experience and Education:

  • Proven skills in working with clients, office, and field staff.
  • Knowledge of upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to work with fabrication and NDE contractors in an efficient manner.
  • Five (5) years of relevant pressure equipment experience.
  • Regulatory knowledge.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems is preferred.
  • (For Alberta only) A current certification of competency by ABSA as an In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspector (IPVI), In-Service Boilers and Pressure Vessel Inspector (IBPVI) and/or
  • Either a) or b)
  • (a) Five years experience in pressure equipment inspection, and
    • API 510, API 570 or National Board Commission, and Related Engineering degree (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding, Chemical or Process Engineering), or
    • First Class Power Engineers Certificate, or Mechanical, Material or Welding Technologist Graduate of a recognized two-year full time program from a Technical Institute.
  • (b) Ten years related pressure equipment experience, and High School Diploma, and API 510 or National Board Certification.

Software Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs is required.
  • Knowledge of database programs is an asset.
