maximize up-time of
pipelines and production
facilities, and maintain
regulatory compliance.
Reporting to the Vice
President, Engineering
Services; the Senior
Technical Specialist is
responsible for management
and delivery of client
projects, and supervising
project teams. This
includes understanding
client needs, developing
business goals and service
delivery.
Job Duties:
As a member of the Engineering group, the
Senior Technical Specialist,
Cathodic Protection is responsible
for, but not limited to, the
following general duties:
- Use your knowledge of
cathodic protection for
pipeline systems to design
and implement:
- Cathodic protection
systems,
- Inspection programs,
- Ongoing monitoring
programs,
- Mitigation programs,
- System installation and
repairs.
- Monitor Quality Control
and Quality Assurance
programs for projects.
- Ensure deliverables are
compliant with all
applicable codes, standards
and regulations.
- Client Management:
- Primary client liaison
from proposal to project
delivery including invoicing
and collections for select
projects.
- Foster and develop new
business relationships where
applicable.
- Periodic travel and
field work are a component
of the position.
- Assist in and provide
technical support to broader
pipeline integrity and
engineering projects.
Industry Experience and
Education:
- Minimum 5 years
experience with Cathodic
Protection Systems (design,
monitoring and maintenance);
preferably with an
engineering or service
company.
- Minimum 4-year
post-secondary degree or
equivalent education; P.
Eng. is preferred.
- Demonstrated project
management skills.
- Excellent communication
skills (written /verbal) and
command of the English
language (oral, written and
comprehension).
- Self motivated, ability
to think critically and
proven problem solving
skills.
- Exposure and experience
with pipeline integrity
engineering and programs
will be considered an asset.
