The Intermediate Field Inspector for Skystone will have a suite of responsibilities including, but not limited to, active participation in the delivery of inspection services.

Job Duties:

As a member of the inspection services group, the Intermediate Field Inspector is responsible for, but not limited to, the following general duties:

  • Inspection of equipment. This includes writing inspection reports in a timely fashion within their certification limits.
  • Assist in the development of appropriate short and long term inspection plans.
  • Ensure current codes and standards are collected, understood and used for design or repair calculations.
  • Ensure appropriate use of technical, safety, and quality management system standards, procedures and forms.
  • Conduct internal, installation and external inspections.
  • Conduct thickness monitoring (TML) of installation and on-stream external inspections and asset data collection.
  • Act under direction of the owner’s inspector for ASME B31.3 piping additions.
  • Collect data and input into internal database (inventory, process, maintenance history and corrosion data).
  • Audit client/service providers for compliance to applicable regulations.
  • Audit service companies for suitability for use and performance.
  • Initial review and approval of pressure relief device service data and inspection data.
  • Perform other duties required by Pressure Equipment Integrity Management programs.
  • Involved in foreman/manager reviews of Pressure Equipment Integrity Management program status.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of quality management system.
  • Assist in training related to inspection.
  • Actively participate in inspection network.
  • Long hours may be required during key operational shut-downs.
  • Travel to clients’ offices and field locations as required to fulfill company obligations will be approximately 30-50%of the time, with the remainder in office.

Decision Making Authority:

  •  Intermediate Field Inspector decisions required to the level of their certification.

Industry Experience:

  • Proven skills in working with clients, office and field staff.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to work with fabrication and NDE contractors in an efficient manner.
  • Five (5) years of relevant pressure equipment experience.
  • Regulatory knowledge.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems is an asset.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • API 510 or National Board Commission.
  • ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspector or In-Service Boiler and Pressure Equipment Inspector

Software Skills:

  • Familiar with Microsoft Outlook™.
  • Good skills with Microsoft Excel™  and MS Word™ documents.
  • Knowledge of database programs.
