Rupert D. Holmes-Smith, B.Sc., Ph.D.
President
Rupert has been involved in the development and growth of the Skystone group of
companies since the inception of Skystone Engineering in 1998. Dr. Holmes-Smith
is a chemist by training and prior to joining Skystone, he worked with Imperial
Oil for 12 years. His extensive experience within the oil and gas services industry
as a technical and business manager, combined with a sound business acumen and dedication
to quality makes Rupert a key leader on the Skystone team.

Frank Gareau, B.A.Sc., P. Eng.
Vice President of Technical Services
As Vice President of Technical Services, Frank is currently responsible for
the technical excellence of all engineering and field services within Skystone,
in addition to overseeing incident investigations, root cause failures and providing
litigation support.
Frank brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his role at Skystone. Frank
has over 26 years of experience in corrosion, materials, inspection, quality assurance
and water treatment, including positions as Chief Engineer at the National Energy
Board and 13 years at Imperial Oil in research, chief inspector and engineering
roles.
Frank has authored and published numerous technical papers and also has led or participated
in standard writing committees within NACE, ASM, ISO, CSA and ABSA.

Larry Biever
General Manager
With over 17 years of experience in oil and gas related industries, Larry brings
a wealth of experience and expertise to his position as a General Manager at Skystone.
Larry’s former positions include three years with Flexpipe Systems Inc. as Director
of Field Services, where he built the field services division and acted as the team
leader for the company’s expansion into the United States. Prior to that, Larry
spent four years with WiseWood Energy / Enerline Resources, managing the pipeline
liner division. He started his career in Oil and Gas Production - field operations,
where he spent 10 years advancing his career to become an area foreman.

Rose Noetzel
Controller and Manager
of Corporate Services
As Controller and
Manager of Corporate
Services with Skystone,
Rose is responsible for
overseeing all company
operations related to
accounting, IT, project
administration, safety,
reprographics and office
support.
Rose brings over 20 years of managerial experience to her role at Skystone. Her
previous experience includes ten years with Bodycote Material Testing Group (formerly
Hoogensen Metallurgical Engineering Ltd.) as Manager of Administration and Field
Services and General
Manager of Operations at
Skystone.
Rose’s extensive managerial experience provides her with a diverse and
unique perspective focusing on account management, operations and budgeting. |

Bill Ho, B.Sc.
Manager of IT Services
As Manager of IT Services, Bill brings years of team project management and software
development experience in the oil and gas industry to Skystone. Bill oversees all
design, development, documentation and maintenance for Skystone’s Spectrel software
application and all IT services within the organization.
Prior to joining Skystone, Bill spent 11 years with GreenPipe Industries Ltd. as
Manager of Software Development and Data Services. During his tenure with GreenPipe,
Bill was responsible for managing a team of software and hardware professionals
overseeing software development, implementation, support and network administration.
Bill holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. |
