Objectives This
training seminar addresses all
sections of the Canadian
Association of Petroleum
Producer’s (CAPP’s) Guidance
Document: “Competency Assessment
for Upstream Oil and Gas
Pipeline Installation
Inspectors” issued September
2009, as well as the relevant
requirements from the Pressure
Equipment Safety Regulations of
Alberta (or equivalent for BC
and SK) for pressure equipment
(boilers, pressure vessels, and
pressure piping). The content
focuses on the role of the
inspector as the client (owner)
representative, and provides a
basic understanding of the
various code and regulatory
requirements necessary for the
inspector to fulfill their role
from a Quality Assurance
perspective. Various aspects of
site safety and project
management and the
administrative requirements
deemed necessary to assure that
new installations fully satisfy
the owner’s requirements and
expectations will also be
included.
